The Classic S&C Gold Cushion Gemstone Signet Ring

Our classic cushion rings can be set with the most popular stones for engraving; Onyx, Bloodstone, Cornelian, and Lapis Lazuli.

We can also set with stunning Sardonyx which is a stratified stone so you get two colours once engraved. These are available in ‘red’ sardonyx normally presented with the light bluey-lilac top colour, engraving through to display a pinky red under layer. Also popular is Blue-Black Sardonyx which is normally worn with the petrol blue colour on top and black showing through the engraving. There are some pros and cons to the most popular gemstones, so please talk to us.

Other exotic gemstones can be used but many are not recommended for seal engraving. We can advise.

Gemstone signets by their very nature can be a little more fragile and that is why we have developed a specific well balanced shape and a strongly backed setting. With care our gemstone signets will last generations. Our gemstones have an open back setting but you can specify back filled however this does influence the translucence of the stone. We can advise.

Gemstone Ring Details

Gemstone engraving is an extremely difficult and precise art and can be quite challenging for the artist to engrave. Like all our engraving it is carried out by hand in the time honoured way. There are very few gemstone engravers left anymore who have the skill and patience to engrave on gemstone and it has to be said that gemstones are less predictable than gold to engrave.

Rest assured, our gemstone engraver is probably the finest in the world and his work is astonishing to behold. The unpredictable nature of gemstone work means that these rings can take a little longer to produce but we can assure that the wait is well worth it.

Our gemstone rings are handmade by our unique cast process and shaped to our exacting specifications. Our special settings ensure lifelong security of the stone. The rings come open back as standard but can be ‘back-filled’ as an extra. They are available in hallmarked yellow, rose and white gold as well as silver.
